Depending on the physical properties of the material to be transported, the conveying distance, the material’s sensitivity to temperature and humidity, and other process requirements, pneumatic conveying systems are categorized into two main methods; dense phase and dilute phase conveying.
Pneumatic conveying systems are divided into two types: lean phase and dense phase.
Dense phase pneumatic conveying systems operate with high pressure (≥1 bar) and low flow rate by using compressors to convey powder or granular raw materials.
Lean phase pneumatic conveying systems are low pressure (≤1 bar) high flow rate systems that use blowers to convey powder or granular raw materials.
